Sudipta Kumar brought an end to the fine run of 14-year-old Thai girl Pimrada Jattavapornvanit with a 6-4, 7-6(2) victory in the semifinals of the ITF grade-5 junior tennis tournament at the VIP Club courts on Friday.
Pimrada had won the title last week and had beaten the second seed Prinkle Singh this week.
Sudipta will challenge the top seed Kaavya Sawhney who battled Priyanshi Bhandari in a three-setter.
In the boys event, Jagtar Arora, a trainee at the Master Academy in theCapital, overcame Krishan Hooda to set up a title clash with top seed Calvin Golmei.
